Mapping Your Career Sweet Spot
Now that you have reflected on your passions, strengths, and non-negotiable needs, it is time to bring them together in a structured visual.
This exercise is not about reaching a perfect answer. It is about noticing connections.
Instructions for completing the map
Begin by completing each circle in the diagram with keywords or short phrases that reflect your:
- Passions: the topics, themes, or activities that energise you or consistently draw your attention.
- Strengths: the abilities that come naturally to you, or areas where others often seek your support or input.
- Non-negotiable needs: the practical, emotional, or logistical conditions that your career must meet to feel truly sustainable.
You can download the worksheet as a PDF from the “Exercise Files” tab and complete it digitally or by hand, whichever suits your learning style best.
Once you have filled in all three sections, take a step back and explore possible intersections:
- Do you notice recurring themes across two or more areas?
- Is there a role, domain, or direction that combines what you enjoy with what you do well?
- Can your strengths support the kind of impact or environment you are drawn to?
The overlap does not need to be perfect or obvious. Even a small area of alignment can offer meaningful insight. It highlights where your energy, competencies, and values begin to converge.
This is your current version of the Career Sweet Spot. It is not a final destination, but rather a personal starting point, a compass to revisit and refine as your clarity evolves.
